The Beautiful Pocono Mountains Winter fun in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. So get ready to have some
frosty adventure and excitement. Winter finally arrived here as snow
has already more than graced parts of the region, so think snow and get ready to
visit the ski resorts in the months ahead. Ski resorts are enjoying some great
conditions so visit and ski the Poconos. Montage Mountain is now called Sno
Mountain, which now has expanded terrain. There is plenty of cross country
skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, ice fishing, snowmobiling,
touring, shopping, hiking and camping. Now there is even casino gambling in the
Pocono Mountains in Wilkes-Barre at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. There are some
great concerts coming up at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorp, a superb venue for excellent music and sound
quality! There are many
things to do for entertainment in the Pocono Mountains. Outlet
shopping and touring is always in season in the Poconos. Wilkes-Barre is doing
some major revitalization of the downtown public square and lots of shopping to
do in the arena hub/mall area.
The Poconos are more or less situated in NE PA between the Delaware River
and the Susquehanna River and between the State Route 6 in the North and I -78
in the South. The Poconos are rich in history and have been continuously inhabited
for over 10,000 years. From quaint towns and
historic sites to a variety of professional sports like Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins
hockey at the arena in Wilkes-Barre and the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Pioneers
football team. Lots of shopping and restaurants at the
Wyoming Valley Mall, Arena Hub in Wilkes-Barre off Mundy St and the Steamtown
Mall in Scranton. There is much to do in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. You can check out the anthracite coal mining history, see
old coal breakers, tour old coal mines, go to Steamtown and drink brews at the
local breweries or tour the Lion
Brewery in Wilkes-Barre. Yep we like our beer here in the Poconos. There are

resort hotels. There is great rock climbing, waterfalls and trails. There is
Great Music in the Poconos with a choice of live music and entertainment! Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe offers a great venue for
live music with top name acts coming in on a regular basis. Great shows coming to Montage Mountain just south of Scranton off
I-81 and the First Union Arena off I-81 (Highland Park Blvd Exit) in
