Hey what's up!? Good climbing in the areas of West Nanticoke and Mocanaqua. Just down the Susquehanna River from Wilkes-Barre off of Rt 11. The grey rock is a quarts conglomerate and is magnificent for crack climbing 5.4-5.10 there are some good high exposure climbs and overhangs 5.10+. Slippery when wet, so are the leaves. The red shale in the area is unstable and prone to ruining a good day of climbing. The Poconos has rattlesnakes and copperheads so try not to think about it. Know what poison ivy looks like?...good! Darkness falls fast so toss a light in with your gear. Do try to have an extra rope as it is a remote, however real probability that you may really dig on having it if you find yourself hundreds of feet in the air and your next anchor now looks alot different up close and you learn a lesson in what is important and an extra rope starts looking like something you wished you had.

Tillbury is behind Tillbury terrace, a nice housing development(if I lived there I'd never get any work done) so if climbing there be cool with the neighbors, they are very cool about climbers, There is a big overhang(try it if you want to really burn...the white chaulky rock half way up is called the prayer rock go touch it and find out why. The ceiling is do-able...I have seen it done, Cusion your rope on the edge if you try it though, it is called the ceiling or cathedral (people get married there from time to time). The rock is endless in climbing routes, a couple tunnels, great views and a big rap off the high cliffs up the ridge and aroung, take 2 ropes!  Leave your bolts at home! Look for the parking area back left of the development...and be courteous to the property owners. I have been climbing there since the early eighties with free access.

Moc is across the river from Shickshinny go over the bridge thru town up the hill and look for a parking area and usually junk of some nature on the left...walk in 50 yds to the most awesome wall with a peace sign painted on it. Home of the pizza crack. A very good place to learn the meaning of determination. Over the ridge is a funky formation like a big rectangle missing from the rock. Moc is also home to the Library another popular climbing spot.
